Fateful Encounters: From Disdain to Inspiration – The Unlikely Bond at IPC

Greetings to all my cherished readers! It’s been quite some time since I last penned down my thoughts on this blog – once a sanctuary for my musings during the golden era of blogging, specifically the Yahoo 360 days, where I proudly held the title of a recognized writer. The winds of change, fueled by the dynamic landscape of social media content, have prompted me to veer towards a fresher direction, one that resonates with the youthful vibes pervading our digital age. Brace yourselves, as a brand-new interface is on the horizon, promising a rejuvenated reading experience.

Let’s rewind a bit to the autumn of 2023, a season marked by my conspicuous absence from Vietnam. Rewinding even further, nine years ago in 2014, I embarked on a transformative journey to IPC. What began as a quest for a gap year from the monotony of work evolved into a profound immersion in an intercultural world. The visionary Principal Søren Launbjerg left an indelible mark on my perspective, steering me back to Vietnam with newfound wisdom.

My return coincided with a pivotal juncture in my professional trajectory – a stint at VTV7, Vietnam’s premier educational TV channel. Heartfelt thanks are owed to my beloved sister, not just my boss but also my mentor in the ethereal art of empathy. It was an enriching odyssey through the realms of the educational sector, yielding fruitful outcomes and laying the groundwork for crafting compelling educational content for the public.

Zooming into the present, the COVID-19 pandemic shackled us to our homes for a seemingly interminable two years. In response, I resolved to revisit IPC, not merely as a student but as a student teacher – a distinctive role where I serve as the bridge between educators and students. The multifaceted responsibilities encompass learning, teaching, and, perhaps most crucially, serving as a role model for students.

The motivation behind my return was not only to experience the unique environment of IPC but also to document its essence. My aspiration is to produce a documentary that captures the essence of IPC’s positive impact on education, portraying it as a beacon for nurturing the next generation.

In a curious twist of fate, my return to IPC brought me face-to-face with someone I had once regarded with disdain – Rod, with his seemingly poker-faced demeanor. Today, Rod stands as my most significant inspiration at IPC, reshaping my understanding of education methodologies with each passing term.

From my perspective as a TV producer, each term at IPC unfolds like a riveting reality show, each episode unveiling the uniqueness of students from diverse corners of the globe. In the tapestry of IPC’s community, every story is a bloom, contributing to the overarching concept of the “best term ever” – a concept etched into the fabric of personal growth.

So, what have I gleaned from this renewed stint at IPC in my role as a student teacher? It goes beyond the conventional facets of education; it’s about viewing education from a fresh perspective, shaped by the insights gained from my newfound position.

Staff meetings, interactions, and the influence of anchor teachers, particularly the ironically chosen Rod, have been instrumental in this transformative journey. His guidance, delivered with care and an intriguing approach, has sparked a plethora of ideas and initiatives during my tenure at IPC.

This phase of my life at IPC has not only been a period of learning but also a time of revelation regarding the significance of inspiration in the work we undertake. Rod, once the object of my disdain, has become my anchor, guiding me with care and introducing me to a plethora of perspectives that I never considered.

Indeed, many ideas and initiatives have taken shape during my time at IPC. However, what stands out is the realization that the essence lies not in the job title or the weight of responsibilities but in the inspiration that propels the work forward.

As I express my heartfelt gratitude for the unwavering support and guidance from Rod, I am eager to extend the IPC model to the youth in Vietnam. This vision, nurtured by Rod, is taking shape in the form of a unique Summer Camp. My dedication to this project stems from a desire to witness its blossoming into numerous fruitful endeavors in the future.

As the storyteller of my own narrative, I’m eager to unveil more chapters in the coming days. The upcoming chapters will unfold not just through blogging but also vlogging on my personal platforms, including

For me, this next chapter entails a new Tada brimming with fresh ideas to explore every day.

Here’s to a Happy New Year, filled with light, inspiration, and the promise of intriguing adventures ahead!
